Heart Rate Monitor Workbook - Easy to Follow, Every Level Adaptable Sep 11, 2010
By Camille Scielzi
"Wellness Coach"
This book works for the home rider to still get into a high intensity zone and it assists the fitness professional deliver a consistent, progressive workout to their classes. I teach an indoor cycling class and am on my second semester and purchased this book to make teaching the class a breeze! You don't need to know any fitness jargon to get a great workout, just follow the instructions, which are not abbreviated like other ride profile books. The book follows the same principles taught in the Heart Zones cycling classes and the charts for each profile ride are very easy to follow and there is not a set progression that "has" to be followed. I wish they would come out with a second volume!

If you need to learn the basics, not so bad Feb 11, 2010
By Lonnie If you are training with HR on the bike, it is a good book. You are better off getting a power meter and training with power.
If you know nothing about bike training, then this is good. It also helps deal with the boredom of indoor riding by giving you some good workouts.

This book takes you through the science of indoor training with the aid of a heart rate monitor. With the knowledge gained here and the supplied workouts, there's no reason why you can't take your riding to the next level.
