Works well, no problems Nov 14, 2009
By Remy Evard I bought this on Amazon earlier this year. I use it to hold my 3GS on my road bike. It's worked great for 500+ miles over roads with the occasional major bump. I've had no problems at all - not with the iPhone detaching, not with mounting it to the bike - it's working perfectly. A few seconds ago I ordered a second one of these for my other bike.
A few notes, to put this into context for others:
There is a little clip on the top that is the mechanism that fully secures your iPhone into the holster. If you don't push your iPhone firmly when you insert it in the holster, it's sometimes possible for that clip to catch partially on the SIM card slot on the top of the iPhone. If you're not paying attention, you may think it's clipped in correctly, but it's not. This happened to me once... once I realized this, I just give the phone an extra press when I clip it in, and it's fine. This isn't a serious issue, just something to be aware of.
I've had no problems at all with the iPhone coming unclipped. I've ridden through nasty potholes, over tree roots, and manhole lid covers that have flatted my tires, but my phone hasn't budged.
I've found that it's possible to use Google Maps, iMapMyRide and other GPS/workout apps, texting, and the iPod with the phone on the handlebars. I've been on concalls using headphones. It works fine, as long as you can overcome the wind noise in the microphone. Obviously, don't do any of this stuff in traffic... but if it's safe for you to do, the mount works fine to enable the iPhone to be used this way.

Great for Biking with iPhone May 17, 2009
By Kevin Kinneavy The iPhone bike mount works great! The clip portion twists off so that you don't have to leave it attached to the bike at all times (just the small mount stays on the bike). You can use the clip either horizontally or vertically, and it holds the iPhone firmly. Doesn't work with a skin or case on the phone.
My only complaint is that the mount is attached to the bike with plastic ties, and that doesn't hold it in place quite firmly enough for my taste. When you twist the clip on and off, it twists the mount a bit too. But it seems to work fine.

Works well, very pleased Jul 06, 2009
By Robert Bartel I use my iPhone as a iPod when riding, and didn't like riding with the armband I use at the gym. I was a little apprehensive when I ordered this, but it was cheap enough I thought it was worth the risk. I'm quite pleased I did. It holds my iPhone at a easy angle to see and control, and holds it securely. The only negative that I have found, is that the phone is heavy enough and the lever arm long enough that it will rotate around the handlebar when the trail gets rough and bouncy. I recommend it, though, if you want a way to get the iPhone off your armband or other awkward, uncomfortable and/or inaccessible place you carry it.

On my third one!! Mar 28, 2010
By F. Yetter I have used this RAM mount for a little over 2 years and I have gone through 3 of them. Yes if you don't clip it in correctly your iPhone will pop out. I like it for it function as its easy to use while riding my road bike. HOWEVER, eventually as you all will find out that bumpy roads will take its toll on the plastic tabs that reside deep down in the mount. There are four of them, its where you push down and twist it to secure it. The tabs break after a few months of bumpy road use. You will notice it because the phone looks loose in the mount. If that portion was metal then I would rate this thing 5 stars. I haven't seen a better device and the price is great. Just order 2 instead of one for a back up.

Bike mount May 21, 2009
By Dartanyon C. Race Not a whole lot to say. It's been mounted for about 4 weeks now, and several hundred commuting miles. Works perfectly. I love it.
